    Some original FG42 parts.

Original parts are hard to find, I hunt this stuff down in my spare time, my restoration is complete, so here are some parts, I know there are two other original FG42 owners who hover anonymously here.
These parts come up for sale so rarely, I share these.

Possibly the most expensive bipod I've encountered in a while, lol.

And I thought my AR build was going to be expensive. I've been rubbing my hands over a hand guard that would cost $230, and that diopter you posted is almost $1,500, lol!

Wow, those are some expensive parts! I don't think I can complain about how much some parts for my old guns can cost after seeing this.

Yes - Comparing AR parts to original FG42 parts prices will be shocking

I am still looking for an original Second Pattern Bayonet - I know there is a member here with one in his collection.
$1K - cash - offer still good - or five matching K98 bayonets, two with frogs.
        It is a disease.

Armistice - The FG42 rear drum sight really was innovative and is still interesting, the top depresses and opens after folding up, it's the original basis for a number of modern systems, and pretty nifty. Certainly a complex little mechanism, that was certainly a precursor, if not a direct influence on your AR system.

Oh, make no mistake, I was not trying to make an apples and oranges comparison between the FG42 and an AR15. Being more deep in the common milsurps, it's easy to forget there are very expensive ones out there that are wicked expensive to restore (a $1,500 rear sight, haha)

As for bayos, a quick search last night (because I was going to make a comment about them in my first post) resulted that they're not all that hard to find and prices are reasonable. Highest price I recall seeing was $100. Better than my original 1903 RIA dated 1906 bayo for $300+ haha! Damn RIA for being less common and more expensive than SA

            Armistice - I know you're a seasoned and knowledgable collector, don't worry I wasn't underestimating your knowledge

I think you'll find original second pattern Fg42 bayonets are unlikely to surface for less than A $1K - at least I've never seen one for sale for less. There was one for $1500 a few years back (turns up of internet searches), but that seller (Gunheep) no longer has it, so I presume he got his asking price.

I have one of Estes Adams hand made reproductions, and a shortened WW2 Mas36 - which fits perfectly - but, still in search of an original.

              Thank you! I'm actually flattered

As for bayos... guess I'm getting a repro, haha!

It is a blessing and a curse to have a collector's interest in German military arms. Just about anything that has authentic nazi lineage goes for big bucks nowadays.
