    2A1 magazine

Just a reminder to the forum members that the factory 2A-2A1 magazine holds 12 rounds. Numrich sells a pretty nice replacement magazine that is 10 rounds only. I bought one several years ago, never used it in the 2A1, and installed it in my 2A1 last night. It is a tight fit but feeds better (actually flawlessly) than the beat up Ishapore magazine that came with my rifle.

I bought it to use in a converted #4 in 7.62 which suprisingly it worked just fine with a smidgen of metal removed from the upper front of the case.

An expensive magazine at $51 but it will be compliant with the new rule coming soon.

Wow thanks for that heads up, was concentrating on my Ruger and USGI HiCaps and forgot about the 2A! Now I just have to find that 10 rounder I got from Brownells years ago and never took out of the package. Wish me luck it's somewhere in the garage!!

      Best of luck!

When I used the Numrich magazine in my #4 I bent the left rear lip up slightly to serve as the case ejector (which worked just fine), trying the magazine in my 2A1 tonight it fed and ejected dummy rounds without a hitch. The cases contact that lip and it kicks them right out unlike the failure to eject of dummy or live rounds with the original magazine.

It's nice to see that someone is making a 10 round magazine for the 2A1.

I think I'd want to use an internal block instead. Mines numbers matched to it and I don't feel like getting rid of it lol

I took it to the range today. It fed NATO spec FNM ammo perfectly but had trouble with my reloads using Hornady FMJ bullets, something about them didn't match the profile of the NATO ammo and caused them to misfeed.

I have a 10 rounder that somehow fits 11, the spring feels horrible loose. Anyone know where I can get a replacement spring?

I suspect the Indian mag was designed to hold 10, and just happens to hold 12. Strippers hold 5 each, so why would you ever design it to hold 12? It's so random.. 10 or 15 would make more sense.
