Need help Identifying

We found this in my uncles attic after he passed away. My Aunt is looking to just get some information on what we have. I believe that its a Blunderbuss but that's about all that I know. Any help would be appreciated

It is some kind of percussion blunderbuss if it is original probably made in the mid 1800's. Sorry i cant be of any more help. I dont know much about them.

Whatever you do, do not clean it.

It is probably british given the crown proof marks and i know those were frequently used on ships.

I agree don't touch it as far as cleaning it up. but you should register it with DOJ as I'm sure if fires more than one projectile at a time. hehehe

"V" proof - London since 1670

Indian copy of a Bess style lock on a crude looking blunderbuss - perhaps 1950's.

Sometimes called "Khyber Pass" copies, they have been making copies there since the English were in Afghanistan and are still making them.

Crown over V is a London inspection mark that began in 1670, as noted above. If you can get me a close up of the gunmark that is furthest on the right I might be able to get some more info on it. I cant tell if it is another pin or a mark.
