SVT40

question: What will be the status of the SVT40 rifle in California? Is it included in the new Assault rifle laws requiring registration this time around.

They say one "feature" is all it takes and it has to be registered. My concern is with the end of the muzzle. Is that a compensator (legal) or a hinder (illegal) (actually, it's more like a "brake" to me. What do you think?

The mag is 10 rounds only.



All my C&R's are not an issue as they don't have a collapsible stock, flash hinderer, front hand grip or rear hand grip.

From my understanding the SVT 40 is not affected by SB880, due to the SVT 40 being a "featureless" rifle. The SVT 40 does not have a flash hider it has a muzzle brake and does not have a pistol grip. So, it's GTG.

As noted in your other post on this, the Army Ordinance Manual of 1954 says "muzzle brake".

Whew... It's a good thing too. If that manual called that a flash hider then that rifle would be a deadly killing machine!!!!! As it stands with the muzzle brake it remains just a safe, harmless plinker. Stupid demorats!

The gun grabbers aren't stupid. Their plan is to ban ARS and AKS now and make the dumb semi-auto C&R crowd think they are flying under the radar.

The gun grabbers will come for your Garands, carbines, SVTs and sks and when they do there won't be any AR and AK guys left to back you. Semi-auto C&R guys better stand up soon, the gun grabbers see you with your head down clutching your SVT.

If they can ban .223 rifles, bet your Garand collection they will ban semi-auto .30/06 rifles soon after.

Almost all SKS's
MAS 49/56 without grenade launchers

All these rifles do not have a flash hider, they are all brakes. If you doubt it, shoot it at night and compare to an A2 Birdcage.

I don't know a single "C&R crowd" oriented person that went apathetic or passive about the recent bills being revised merely to steer away from C&R semi-auto from being targets.

That is some fabricated BS that exists only in your social-networking wet dreams.

This wasn't like the Cowboy-Action SASS crowd with SB15/Roster bill actively seeking their exemption (only), or Jim Zumbo of Outdoor Life throwing ARs into a fire of politics to criticize their use for hunting to save his beloved Remington 700.
