Finnish M39 Value Questions *Now with pics!*

I have a Finnish M39 Mosin Nagant of Valmet manufacture with a 1944 date on the hex receiver. I've probably had it for 18 or so years so it isn't one of the recent Classic examples. It looks like it was re-arsenaled as some point because the blueing is almost perfect. What things should I look for to determine the value to put it up for sale? I've also got one of the reproduction bayonets for it. What do those go for these days?

The pics start on reply #11.

I've also got some Chinese ammo in paper pouches with 2 5 round stripper clips in each I'm planning on selling, as well as some older Brown Bear soft point ammo.

If anyone is wondering why I'm looking into selling it, I can't remember the last time I shot it and it is the only firearm 7.62x54R that my dad or I have and I'm trying to eliminate this last oddball caliber I have.

    Thanks!

Pics of your specific rifle will help.
Classic still has some at $349 but they are likely the returns and poorest quality. https://www.classicfirearms.com/finn...-rifle-762x54r

A GunBroker search for "finn m39 vkt" on completed auctions only shows 3:
    Sold for $615: http://www.gunbroker.com/item/561870140
    Sold for $500: http://www.gunbroker.com/item/553660515
    Sold for $430: http://www.gunbroker.com/item/556745614

Thanks! I just pulled it out of the back of one of my safe's last night and was going to clean it up and take pictures of it. I was wondering if there were any markings I should pay attention and get pictures of.

BTW mine looks about like the first one without the plum coloring on the barrel.

These rifles have so much history and snapping a few pics really shows a lot.
There's also a marking underneath the receiver tang near the back where the screw goes. This will tell what year and if its pre 1899 it's classified as an antique and you can sell it without the need of a license.

+1. With an exceptionally pretty stock, $450. Antique maybe $500-600.

I would say ballpark of $400, and it could go up or down from there. Pics will really help.

Bore condition too. If you are a "yokel" (no offense) and fired a bunch of corrosive Chinese ammo through it 20 yrs ago without cleaning it, the bore may be shot.

I have an example with no import marks I'm really wondering how to price it. Might just put on Gunbroker one day and let the market determine price.

I'm in the market for a M39. If you want to sell, shoot me some pics, or if you list it somewhere send me a link.

                    Thanks

I was able to get it cleaned up and pics of it today.

The date on the bottom of the tang looks to be 1917.

The barrel does look plum. I don't remember it being that way last time but it has been a while and it is an old one at 72 years old.

As far as the bore I know about corrosive ammo. The rifling is still sharp and there is a light frosting to it, maybe. I couldn't get a good pic of it unfortunately.

Dude that bayonet might be worth more than the gun. I need that bayo for my Sk.Y ..
The gun has matching bolt and receiver. If bore is ok I'd say $350-$400

Bayo is a repro. $400 gun right there. $420 if some wants to pay for the civil guard receiver and cleanliness.
