As a shooter and not a collector ,for me no.For those that collect every possible variation by year,lot,heat number,cartouche,you get the idea yes!
Don't buy one to get rich.Making money will be short lived by a sale ,and then you spend the cash on something else.

If it is USGI (non-import), buy it. Even if the barrel looks worn. The parting out price is worth more than the asking price. Especially if it has USGI wood.

You could easily turn around and flip it for $800 - $900 if you don't like it.

USGI receiver/barrel/parts? BUY IT.

Speaking of "Barn wood stocks" here is one given to me by the author of that article. A SA/GHS early stock that has had names carved into it . If it could only talk, who knows what it may have seen

Yea yea yea.........I haven't seen one at the LGS or the local grocery stores either. I already did my part with sending emails but where are the didicated locations where I can sign? I see the folks registering voters but that's it. Won't get the required signatures unless I see them at the usual places.

$850 is not $675. I'm not shopping for an M1, but that was a good price. I think it was one of the less sought after types. If I remember correctly, I couldn't find any markings that were jumping out at me. PAX
