03 holder buying from private party

Hey guys, I'm an 03/coe holder and I have a question about purchase from private party and a store/webstore.

I've purchased from a store/webstore/gunbroker where I send them a copy of my 03 & coe. I get an invoice and it's done.

I've purchase private from another 03 and we just exchanged copies of 03 & coe, bill of sale and done.

Now with a private seller such as on the market place here, do I still give them a copy of my 03 & coe? Aren't we not supposed to give out copies of our papers to non FFL's or something? What documentation can I give to the seller that he can retain for his personal records that it was a legit sale?

A coy of your 03/COE is what you should give them. That's the only way to prove that you are legitimate.
