I finally broke down a couple of weeks ago and picked up a K98. While I should have bought one many years ago when they were cheap, I cleverly managed to wait until even the lowly RC rifles have risen to command a fair amount of money.
This particular one was picked up from the local Armslist. What attracted me to it was the fact that the chickens hadn't been punched and the bore is excellent. I certainly didn't get any kind of deal on it, but I like that I was able to inspect it before I coughed up the dough.
1939, 42 code (Mauser, Oberndorf), matching receiver, barrel and stock. Other than that it is a total mixmaster.

Since I just have to have the proper bayonet for my guns that take them (I'm sick like that), a few days ago I found this bayonet and picked it up. While there was some surface rust on the scabbard, the rest of it is in beautiful condition. The only bluing loss on the blade is from sliding in and out of the scabbard. The frog is in decent condition and is very well marked. The story was that it belonged to the sellers grandfather. I didn't pay for the story however, and got it for a decent price
