Need Help with a 8MM Mauser 24/47

Just wanted to know what stock I should get for my 24/47. Someone butchered mine and sporterized it. It looks really cheap so I was wondering what type of stock I should go with also if anyone has one for sale for local pick up. Also wondered if I could get some pics of your newly refurbished rifle.

Also how do I know if mine is a large ring or a small ring Mauser.

Will a Mauser 98 stock from Cabela's fit mine.

Get a Boyds laminate in crazy colors, they look really nice and if the Mauser one is anything like the 10/22 one, it'll feel great.

The Yugo M24/47 is a large ring Mauser, but it has a slightly shorter "intermediate length" action, just like the Yugo M48. You might have to do some modification to get a regular Mauser 98 stock to fit.

Is the modification easy to do with very minimal experience. I also want to float the barrel is tha easy and how much do you recommend I trim off the stock.

Intermediate length action, will not fit in a standard 98K stock. www.mausercentral.com/forum , user name brunk, had a nice stock set for a 24/47 in the Buy,Sell,Trade forum. If he's already sold it, put a want ad there. These guys sporterize them and usually have the military parts laying around.
