True...and The People are the ones reelecting them, e. g. Arizonans reelecting McCain...or Kentuckians reelecting McConnell...etcetera...so we as a nation are getting the government that we elect, state by state, county by county.
This also, BTW, explains why a lot of The People got behind Trump initially, precisely because he's not one of those establishment types.

It seems our politicians are bound and determined to erase our history so they can repeat it and twist it to their own evil ends. We didn't assemble the greatest war machine ever seen in the history of the world in a matter of a couple of years to create the weapons that vanquished our enemies. God I despise revisionist history. The general populace is too dumb and distracted to know or care. There are relatively few of us care about the legacy of the great American weapons that our parents, grandparents and great grandparents crafted to save the world from the Nazis, Italians and Japanese.
