M84 Scope Mount - USGI or Repro?

Thanks to my bud Rozzi, I had some pics of USGI mounts to compare to when I bought this off E Bay. I would like to verify that what I have here is a USGI M1D Mount.



The seller said is was off an M1D from the CMP and that it was in like new condition.



I paid $400, which was about $50 more than I wanted to, but I thought that it looked really good.



So, how did I do?

It looks good but what is on the locating pin? Is that just black paint or some kind of washer?

I remembered it wrong.
I think that I confused it with another rifle . My error.

Here is the description:
This is a new old stock USGI M84 scope mount for the M1D sniper rifle. It came with a DCM rifle that was purchased in the '90's. It was mounted on a rifle and placed in a safe for 20 years! I don't recall the rifle ever being fired, so obviously there is no wear on this. It was primarily used to hold the M84 scope, but other 7/8" scopes will fit as well. The M82 and Lyman Alaskan will also fit if desired. It is as nice of condition as you can find. Look at my other auctions for an M84 scope and DCM purchased AR TEL scope for the Vietnam era sniper rifle

Do you have any money left over to buy a camera?

I'm no expert on these but I don't see the glaring obvious signs of a knock-off mount. If it isn't legit it is one of the better ones.

Same here, given the picture quality and my only semi-experienced eyes it's not a glaring fake. The fakes work themselves loose pretty fast so you'll know in not that many rounds...
