C&R hand guns for California ?

Not wanting to hijack a thread I did a copy and paste of this from another posts and want to know if this is actually a legit way to go about get a C&R hand gun here ?What form do I submit ? I already have the C&R

Apply for an 03FFL, take it out of state (NV/AZ gunshows), take your pick of any C&R pistol and buy it, take it back into CA yourself and submit your registration to the DOJ via mail.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
