1920 Izhevsk Mosin built on a 1900 Tula receiver.

This is one of the rifles from a creat of Hex Mosins I picked up on one of my road trip back in 2011.
When Dan over at Dan's Ammo opened the creat, I saw this rifle and said it was the creat I wanted. He told me that he had some paperwork to do on the creat and would have it done in two days. When I went back his guys loaded up the creat in my truck and the rest is history.
I really like this rifle and it will stay in my collection.

Do not relish to feel what the men that used these weapons felt when they saw the elephant. For the elephant has tusk and to see him is to have his tusk dig deep into your soul. You will always have a part of you that will be cold and empty.

That's a nice one, 1919-1922 Izhevsk mosins aren't the easiest rifles in the world to find.

I'm not that up on Mosins, is it a transitional M91 since 10 years later came the 91/30? I ask because it has a globe front sight intstead of the typical exposed blade.

The rifle would have been built as a dragoon rifle, with the blade sight and M91 style leaf rear sight.

Now, when it was refurbed, the rifle received the 91/30 sights, and is now what is known as an "ex-dragoon" 91/30.

Thanks for the explanation, now it makes sense to me.
