    #/25\ Refurbs

Mosin Refurbs with the orange painted sights and the /25\ mark tend to have a higher quality finish on them.
I don't think anyone has ever found info on these rifles.
I got these four in the crate of 20 Mosins I picked up from Dan's Sporting Goods a few years ago.

I have the matching bayonet for each rifle.

The SN# and the sight #s are filled with orange paint.

You can see the /25\ stamp cleary on three of the rifles.
Do not relish to feel what the men that used these weapons felt when they saw the elephant. For the elephant has tusk and to see him is to have his tusk dig deep into your soul. You will always have a part of you that will be cold and empty.

Nice collection you have Gunny thanks for sharing. You must have a very large safe to keep everything in. Good to take 'em out for a breath of fresh air The smell of Cosmoline and Hoppes is nice

I open my safes sometimes and it smells like a military storage depot. Wish I could get a Glade plug in with that smell

Not a definitive answer, but here's a theory someone on Reddit has:

March 29- April 5, 2019- The Million Mag March. Thank you, Judge Benitez and all the vendors

I've seen some Mosins with orange paint in the serial number but not on the sights like yours.

I have posted one or two of these rifles on other forums in the pass.
The /25\ mark was discussed over at 7.62x54r.net forum a while back.
I can't remember what was said but I do remember that no one knew the true meaning of the mark. If someone checked there, they may have found something on the mark. I'm unable to check myself because Ted (7.62x54r) banned me from his site because I used the words STOCK WORK in a post. LOL
I may give Dan a call and see if he has a record of where these rifles came from.

I have three safes and a 4x4 walk in and still don't have enough room.
              Looking at buying another safe.

The triangle/25 marking is an unknown Soviet post-war inspection/repair/refurb marking. It's earliest verified dated use so far is on a PEM scope inspection document from the the late 1940's....1949, as I recall, but might be 1947 - I'll have to check it and see.

One sees this marking, along with a Cyrillic letter above it, on PU scopes whose inspection documents date mainly in the early to mid 1950's.
