Brazilian Model of 1935, Banner Mauser Timecapsule

I recently acquired this immaculate model of 1935 Brazilian Mauser, made in the Oberndorf Factory, banner Mauser. It is truly exquisite.

Unlike some rifles brought in the 90's through Florida this rifle was brought in 60 years ago. The seller's name rang a bell and it turned out to be a famous author (I had his book sitting on my desk and recognized the name!). Anyway, a great find and to come from such an esteemed source it's already my find of the year.

Wow! Congratulations! Where did you find it?
    Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

        Lucky you.

Now. More about the seller. That has to be a good story.

That's about as nice as they come. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

I can confirm that the rifle in question did not come from EMPIRE ARMS. We sold eighteen of them (all with matching numbered bayonets and 1937-dated test-targets) on October 17th, 2009 in the exact same (absolutely PERFECT) condition.

This was truly the pinnacle of Mauser rifle production. Congratulations!

Wow, that is magnificent! It looks like it just came straight to you from the factory. Congrats!

Weird that viewing a pristine tool brings such joy to me, but it does. Nice find.

That rifle is amazing! But for Dennis' comment, I would have assumed it was unmatched, as well.
