I need some help identifying Spanish Dueling Pistols

A friends Dad picked these up in the early 1970's in Spain.

Dad thought that they were cool, and has forgotten anything he knew about them 45 years ago....

Do you know of any sites that have info on this type of firearm or any info on what they are or who made them?

I found this with a quick search.

Is not a perfect match but if you look at the fluted barrels, corner pullout drawer and the way the other accessory items are laid out in the box there is a similarity.

It does look like you have a better grade though.

Okay if these ones match yours, I think you'll have the makers name at least.

Complete set as shown. The guns are high quality working Spanish reproductions. Makers name is Ardesa. .44 Caliber. Please judge condition from pictures. 7362

They seem to be well made, engraved, close copies of the older original Spanish and French dueling Pistols in a "French style display box".

If it is not visibly seen, try removing the barrel from the grip and something might be engraved on the hidden portion of the barrel.

            Very cool BTW!!!

I agree that's a very cool set indeed and not lower-quality blackpowder pistols we usually see in the U.S.
I also noticed in my search that the prices varied widely. from opening bids of around $500 up to and over $1500 for sold prices for pistols sets from the same maker.

I even read that someone was fooled into believing they were the real thing (true antiques and yes, fluted barrels were a real thing back then) and trading a car for a set that had been originally antiqued (artificially looking old) by the same manufacturer.

But I think it would still take a Spanish Bubba ( El Bubba?) to remove the modern markings that say things like "for Blackpowder only", the caliber and the makers mark to make it so it would fool anyone.

Lastly it occurs to me with all these videos of the near riots and gangs jumping in to a one-on-one fight that bringing back dueling pistols and the activity of dueling (with all of its official rules) may just make America great again.
