They are Kentucky style pistols with a birds head grip. The barrel stampings may be hidden on the bottom part of the barrel.

As for the unusual trigger, it is a one trigger Set-Trigger unit. You cock the hammer, push the trigger forward and it will click. The trigger is now set as a hair-trigger. The screw is used to set the sensitivity.

Get use to the lightness of the trigger before actually firing. Place a piece of leather over the nipple or hold the hammer when you pull the trigger when dry-firing. You don't want to burr the head of the nipple.

I shoot .45 calibre pistols regularly and use this combination:

20 gr. of 3F black powder
      .440 ball
      .015 lubed patch.
      #11 cap

Before firing clean the barrel and remove the nipple and check to see the passage from the bolster to the barrel is clear of any obstructions.

At the range place a cap and fire into the ground to ensure the vent is clear, then load POWDER-PATCH-BALL!

They are fun to shoot. A nice find.

I was gonna' say that they look an awful lot like typical CVA kit guns.

If you're looking for value cash, I would estimate anywhere from $50 (the quick price) each - up to $175 each because they are just modern replicas, used, still available on the open market and anyone could order them through the mail.

it's possible you might get more for the one with the target style / set trigger but only if you can find a buyer who is looking for that.

Once you get into the $200 price range a lot of blackpowder people just start buying imported copies of single action black powder revolvers.

*I'm no expert I'm just going by some prices I've seen items like that so for.
