    Romanian Instructie Rifle

I have several Mauser rifles, but one of my favorite is an old beat up Czech VZ24. Just about all the finish is worn off and the stock looks like a corn cob, but I love it.
It was used in Romania as an Instructie rifle. Now depending on who you talk to, they will say the the rifle was used as a trainer and others will say that is was used by what we would call The National Guard.
The one thing I know for sure is, it was well used.

Interesting rifle. What does the red stripe indicate?

Red stripe usually meant "training rifle". There were some marked with black stripes also.

              Very cool.

I have one of the M69 trainers, but that VZ24 is way neat.
