Reno Scheels find - late WWI Colt 1911..

Couldn't resist a Pre WWII Colt 1911 for about the price of a modern plain "GI" 1911 .. Bore needs cleaning but rifling is strong.
According to what i could find, its a 1918 production, based on serial #566xxx. Slide has no visible serial, but has a pony stamp.. Frame has "A A" marks, Augusta Arsenal perhaps ?

So, what do you think is its value ? Did i do ok ?

Here it is - 1200 Scheels Drive
          Sparks, Nevada 89431

Going East on I-80, take exit 20 and go left , although you'll see the huge store on the left of the freeway 1/2 mile before you get to the exit ..

Nice... When I lived in Carson City, I used to visit all the gun and pawn shops out there you could find some really great deals. Hint.. when dealing with pawnshops always offer them half the asking price, they almost always negotiate. I've gotten some whopper deals that way.

You may know this, but on the early 1911's the serial number is on the slide under the fireing pin retaining piece. Poke the end of the fireing pin in with a pen or something until you can slide the retainer down. Careful that the fireing pin doesn't come flying out. The last 3 of the serial number should be there. The "AA" indicates a WWII era inspection and possible rework at the Augusta Arsenal in Georgia.

            Have fun.

Yeah i looked under the firing pin retainer but there's no serial there .. Aparently there were some slides without it, at least that's what i'm reading.
