Since we've been discussing CMP carbines recently I thought I'd share 3 CMP scores from years past. I've picked up a boat load of CMP guns but currently only have 4; 2 M1 rifles, an 03, and an M1 carbine

Inland sitting in a birch M2 stock with matching handguard. The first time I took it out to shoot it I noticed the wood cracked around the action 'socket' so I just glued it together with some wood glue. It's stayed together for years that way.

Springfield high number 03 sitting in an early WW2 A3 stock. Has an SA42 barrel and checkered milled buttplate. Typical WW2 rebuild but what a sweet shooter! Bright, sharp bore and tight muzzle.

1945 Springfield Armory with a correct dated SA barrel. 1966 Letterkenny Army Depot rebuild and so marked. The inscribed 'A' by the serial number means that at some point in its issue the unit arms room had two weapons with the same serial number so this one was set apart by the added 'A'.

Not a CMP rifle but I suspect it was a DCM rifle from the old days. All correct and essentially unused Remington A3 complete with like-new M1942 bayonet.
Found at a local gun shop and picked up for $500 OTD.
