Well, kind of. I had kind of fallen into this one; I was comiserating with another GSD owner at the dog park some weeks ago about how I still haven't heard from the CMP with regards to the latest carbine run.
He tells me that he has 4 carbines from the CMP from years past and would be happy to sell to me for what he paid! Turned out to be a "rack" grade Bavarian IBM, with Austrian stamps as well on the TG. For $600 I am quite pleased, turned out to definitely be a shooter.
Below are pictures of it, and a target today (only 25 yds to get the piston unstuck; standing, rapid. I'll look forward to running it out to 100 or so this weekend now). Took some trying to figure out the hold at the 100yd setting to get hits and 25. Thought you guys might enjoy.
The carbine:
Bavarian Rural Police IBM receiver and barrel
11-43, SN 37480XX
Bolt: IO(sideways 1)
Slide:AOB
Trigger housing: BE-B
Hammer: WMB
Barrel band: KV-B
Stock: looks like "UH", "P" marked grip, visible cartouche
HG: JLB (and has serial stamped inside)
Front sight: SI-B
Rear Sight: PI
