You temp me good sir, but those rings and mounts cost more than the rifle and then I still have to find the scope. A Yugoslavian M48 sniper (park ranger rifle) is a "one day" for me. I already have a M48B but I don't think the bore is as good as it should be to invest mounting a scope.

Actually, looking at where the bell is in front, it probably won't work. Looks like it is about as far back as it will go without hitting the scope mount.

Yeah, the ZRAK Mauser mounts disappeared. These guys list both the scopes and the mounts, http://www.p-a-distributing.com/mounts.html but they have shown as "New Products coming soon" since about 2010. I emailed them in 2012 and never heard back.

Got myself curious, so I searched around, there is a guy on Ebay in Croatia selling the scope and mounts, for $240 and $220 respectively.

Someone want to roll the dice on a purchase from Croatia?

The scopes are a straight tube with an ocular bell, use "LOW", maybe "MEDIUM" weaver rings, depending on the scope bell, and you shouldn't need a cheek piece. Loc-tite the screws on the B-Square and you shouldn't have a problem with it.
The Weaver K4 I put on this rifle has great glass, very nice and clear. It just isn't the right scope for this application. It also isn't a pistol scope, which is probably where I went wrong.

Makes sense that a pistol scope would work as a long eye rifle scope. I always thought pistol scopes on pistols seemed like a silly idea.

I am going to keep fumbling around to find something that works. I will not D&T this rifle because it is in minty new condition. I just know from experience that (for me anyway) shooting accurate groups at 100 yards and out with the terrible M48 sights is frustrating. I used to have a 24/47 with Mojo sights and it was a drastic improvement. Even with the cheapest milsurp ammo...

I cannot remember why I sold that rifle........
