    Tokarev issue

So I got a Romanian Tokarev from Classic a while back. Great shape, great gun. But more often than not slide locking lever engages. What could this be? I changed the recoil spring and the magazine springs, But it is not a magazine issue. It just locks back like it is supposed to do on the last shot. Any ideas?
    Thanks

It should. Is your thumb riding the lever? multiple mags do this?

The TT33 slide stop retaing clip acts as the spring by way of pinching tension on the slide stop shaft. So check that

Also make sure the slide stop isnt too tight in the barrel link and moves freely thru

At first I blamed the magazine, but they both did it. It also happens with snap caps.
The clip is fairly loose. No binding at the barrel link. There isn't much room above the safety.

Yea , the retaining clip needs to be tight or it wont hold the catch down. You might be able to squeeze it tighter or get a new retaining clip

Do you have big hands? You could be engaging the slide lock under recoil. Hold your dominate hand thumb down firmly with your support hand thumb and see how that goes.

I posted foto's when I received it. Here you go. No I checked that, not close to lock with thumb. But the clip is very loose.
