Hi All,
So last year about this time, well 9 months ago, one of my LGS haunts (usually the most over priced & geared to African $afari) that I check out weekly, had a '70 Alby that I saw, which was priced a little high at $570, but ended up getting anyway, it being the onliest Alby that I've come across.
Well lo and behold, today I drop by and put fresh on the rack, is a numbers matching '69, no sling or cleaning kit, $499. I twisted my wrist when I set a new personal "whip-out-the-plastic" time. "I'll take this one" says I.
It just got put out on consignment, won't be cleared until 4/18, then off to Kali 10 day jail my pretty.
I can't believe that the same store had 2 Albys within a year, for a total of 5 SKSs in 5 years, of which 3 are mine. I him-hawed on an unissued Russian at $375 five years ago and missed it by a day, the other in that time frame was a Century Sino-Banian (me got), and a newer "Norinco" next to the '70 Alby for $600 (seriously??).
So now this second Alby helps off set the overprice from the first, not that I care, they're just not around these parts, USAUALLY. I'm stoked, PAX
