Chinese T53 Value?

Hi, I'm seeing what the value of a Chinese T53 Mosin Nagant would be these days, looking at a trade for my Glock, but I hear they are decent, but aren't worth that much.

T53s were fairly uncommon until the last few years. Many T53s have been imported recently, in varying conditions, mostly along the good to very good mark. One with typical dings and dents on the stocks with a decent bore remains around $150 to $175.

I was lucky and only had flaking shellac. Sanded it and refinished, but never liked it. Recently, I've stripped it so I can refinish it properly

Usually the finishes are rough and dark. Many will have a light film that's possibly water damage (like a wet cup messing up a table's wood finish)

Good luck finding a T53 that doesn't look like it was recovered from a rice paddy or dragged behind Mao's motorcade for a few years. Even better luck finding one that isn't a complete Frankenmosin.

Sure, no problem. This one isn't a beauty queen either, but it was the best one I find at a reasonable price that was all matching with a good stock. Besides the significant bluing loss, the metal is perfect and the bore is mirror, no CB. I haven't got around to shooting it either..

That is a masterpiece compared to half dozen T53s I have almost bought at dealers, both in state and out of state. The wood looks relaitvely beautiful and the wear on the metal looks amazing. Nice score.

T 53's were not rare even past a few years ago quite a few were brought in at different periods since 1986. Some came in as bring backs from Nam too I have come across some non import marked ones but they were extremely thrashed.

I have a Navy Arms imported one that is better than avarage but I have never seen a nice one like SVT's. I paid $100 like around 2005 and I thought I overpaid a bit.
