    91/30 stripper clips

    hey guys,
Are there some that are better then others?
I see the OG Russian clips going for around 4.00 each
I also see some others going for less than 50 cents each

    Enjoy your weekend

I never got my hands on original ones... but the repros don't work very well for me.

Russian and Bulgarian are good, Hungarian not so much.

If you can go for the Finn chargers. Haven't seen them for a few years and I'm sure they are not cheap now. I had a tin of Norinco 7.62X54R that came with ten brass chargers that worked fine once. They they cut you up.

You'll never use the repros.. trust me. You're better off spending the extra money on a product that you'll actually put to use. Don't go the cheap route on these.

Thanks guys, I don't mind spending more for quality.

Do you know of a retailer that stocks these or and I at the mercy of ebay.

Mine loads pretty good by hand, I just thought my son would get a kick out of using the clips and actually seeing what a clip is and how it works.

Hmm I need to pick some of the millitary surplus ones whenever I hit a gun show or maybe trade some x54 brass for them. Is there a way to tell them apart from the commercial junk ones?

A few years ago sgammo had sealed tens of 54r on strippers from the forties. I bought some. Funny enough I couldn't see a difference from my cheep repos. Now some people say it is all about how you hold the upper bullet.

I got a ton of the genuine Russian ones, never used. I'll sell them in multiples of 10 for $40 if anyone wants them.

the ones I had were stamped with the arrow in a triangle...Tula I think. The stamps are very small and hard to see.

I still cringe at the memory of tearing off part of my thumbnail and cutting into the tip of my thumb on one of the cheap repros that I got with my sling. They were flimsy and had edges that were sharp enough to cut and dull enough to hurt. I load one at a time now...

A rather expensive alternative to stripper clips are the RSI "zipper strips". It's $20 for three of them, but they look nice. Never used them because of the price though. http://www.rocksolidind.com/shop/mosin/zipper-strips/

"Comes around goes around" I'd like to thank beerman for sending me some of the stripper clips he had taking up space in his garage.

I've got scares on my fingers and hand from all kinds of cuts. I'm going to try these with gloves just to see if I can get the hand of it.
