So I just won the lot on carol watsons auction.

Was interested in 2a1 because it is in .308, and in the sporter because I want to bring it back to original config.

Probably overpaid, but let me know what you think... I won the lot for $150, will have to pay some sort of absentee premium, but I think it will still be less than $200.

Not sure where they are exactly, I will be going there for the first time, but yes they have been having auctions for as long as I have been looking.

Enfield 2a1's are 7.62x51 or 7.62 Nato NOT 308

While you are searching for replacement wood keep an eye out for new screws. A lot of these rifles have bunged up screw heads or stripped threads. Screws for these can still be found NOS for not much money.

Picked it up. Bore is not bad, so pretty happy. WI'll shoot soon to see if it is worth doing anything to.

My total came out to $212 after paying the internet premium, sales tax, and DROS.

But thanks to the COE and C&R I was able to walk out with the rifle. Still haven't taken it apart, but will probably do it over the weekend, right along side my no1 mk3, to track differences.
