    Colt 3rd model Dragoon.

How is the Colt 3rd model dragoon?

I have a new 3rd generation Signature Series that I am thinking about shooting for the first time. I have watched some videos on youtube, and the charging handle keeps falling down just like the Colt Walker pistols even though they have a latch. I don't want t deal with the lever coming down every shot and stopping the cylinder from turning.

A twisty tie from a loaf of bread will keep it secure.

My 3rd mod does this too but only when I use big loads - like 30-40 grns.

Not to hijack, but does your Uberti Dragoons have heavy tooling marks on the frame under the hammer? The gun had scratches on the brass backstrap and on the case hardened frame too. It looks like the scratches were there before the bluing was done. Overall, I am not pleased with fit and finish. Shipping might have added to the damage as Midway placed the smaller Uberti box in a larger Midway box with 6-7 air bladders. The gun tore through the Uberti box and bounced around in the Midway box.

Gunk on wood handle, dent on bluing frame.

I would contact Midway and request a replacement. I'm sure they'll make it right, especially if show them the pictures.
