    C&R long gun transfer

Nor cal dealer has a C&R long gun that I want. Too far for me to travel to get it.
So, I'd like to have them ship to my LGS. I have an FFL-3 and COE.

Q: Will I be able to DROS and take home the same day from my LGS with my FFL-3 and COE?

Q: Under the above scenario, is it exempt from the FSC and safety demo?

The seller should be able to ship it directly to you since you have a C&R and COE.

If it's a long gun, just have them ship it to you. No need to go thru a local FFL when you have 03/COE.

He said it's a dealer, rather than a private party.

I understand, but same laws apply.
OP, did you ask them to ship it directly to you and they refused? It sucks that many guns shops and dealers simply don't want to deal with it.

They are an 01 dealer in CA. I didn't ask if they could direct ship.
I am under the assumption that they have to either ship to another dealer; or I must be present to DROS. And, that my C&R plus COE will only get me a waiver of the 10 day wait.

They won't be able to ship directly to OP. Just like another recent thread about a Cali auction house not being able to do so. It's how the sucky DES works.

It's legal for a C&R and COE holder to have C&R rifles shipped directly to them. You must then file a BOF961 form within 30 days of receipt.

That's how many of us C&R and COE holders receive C&R rifles from dealers like Classic, AIMs, Empire Arms, etc. I don't believe the laws are different if the seller is already in CA.

See the rub is the dealer has to submit DROS when selling to an 03/coe holder. And the 03coe holder has to sign for delivery.

How the way DES is configured, 01's don't have an option to release to 03's via direct shipment because a CFLC is needed and COE can't be used. It's stupid, but 03's don't have much options.

                              That is lame.
But a private party, (whether or not they have a C&R/COE) can ship a C&R rifle directly to a C&R and COE holder?
