requirement to sell an old rifle

I have a Winchester model 62A 22 pump that has a manufacture date of 1953..I'm planning to sell it and am a bit confused about the FFL involvement...I understand that if I sell to a private party that is not an FFL the transaction has to go through an FFL with the DROS/fees, etc..

What if a person that holds a FFL license for C and R (think it's called an "03") wants to buy it (I don't even know if it is considered C and R)? Can I simply sell it to that person and not have to meet at an FFL? If that is the case how do I make certain the buyer is qualified to purchase it and that the transaction is legal?

    Many thanks.

It qualifies as c-r because its over 50.

Buyer must have a current 03 license AND a current California issued COE. Make sure he shows you both.

Make sure you get copies of both for your records.

I had a feeling this was the case...many thanks for the verification...just don't want "issues" with the insanity of the California ever moving and changing laws.

        Thanks again

You can also sell/transfer it directly to an 01 or 07 FFL, either by face to face, or shipping to the FFL address.
