New production Webley top-break revolver .357

Limited run of reproduction highly engineered Webley revolvers in .357magnum.
Price point approx - $10K per revolver.

*Same company is considering remaking a limited run of gold plated Morris Marina cars, too. -
Top Gear reference - Morris Marina is the worst British care ever made.

As many of you know, owning a handgun is next to impossible in England. But what about making one? I can not think of a single currently made British handgun. There hasn't been a wheel gun made in the country in over 30 years, but Anderson Wheeler is changing that. And changing it with an update of the classic and iconic British revolver, the Webley.

Yeah I can just see those flying off the shelf. Not.

Reminds me of the webley remake in India a few years ago - marketed as a woman's self defense revolver. I think they were selling for 200,000 rupees.
Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!

The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)

It's a pretty revolver all buffed up and nicely finished, but why?
A complete custom refinish of an original 1900's beauty, by a top engraving and refinishing house would be less money.

I could see the fun in remaking a Webley Fosbery though. The reproduction would actually be cheaper than an original -

Too cool. Would much rather spend $10k on two customs 1911s (maybe even 3 for that matter), but I think the Webley is a pretty unique little revolver. Would like to find an original one day.

Am sure they will sell some engraved guns to Arab Potentates.

Yeah, I'll stick with my War Finish Webley. No, it isn't as powerful. But I much prefer the 200 grain bullets with no recoil to a .357 that costs more than my first 3 cars combined.

(edit) The thing with handguns in India is that they all have to be made by one of the very limited number of indigenous manufacturing firms. And while the permits and hoops needed to get a pistol over there are expensive and difficult to obtain, in a nation of over 1 billion people, there is still a large enough market for the manufacturers to charge more or less what they want. With clunky, .32 S&W Long Enfield-style revolvers easily selling for over $2,000. Rifles are almost as bad, and they are only allowed to own them in like 3-4 calibers. .30-06 being the most powerful and desirable. Many of the others are modified Lee-Enfields chambered for what they call .315" sporting rifle. What the rest of the world calls 8x50R, the WWI Austrian military cartridge.

Wow, I misread it...I thought it read $1,000. Even at 1K, it's overpriced.

                        Holy crap!

$10K? Webley does not have the coat tails to ride for that.

                        I'll take $350 instead.

                        C&R nut.

Wow, $10k is crazy! I'm sure they'll sell them to people with more money than brains.

I haven't heard of a Morris Marina, could they be worse that a Reliant Robin? Although Top Gear did mange to make the Robin into a space shuttle and launch it. LOL

My thread so I can foul it up with unrelated pics.

My 1906 Webley Fosbery, which sold to a lawyer (a collector of Webley Fosbery revolvers) in Phoenix, AZ for just under $12K.

It shares the picture with an 1898 Reichsrevolver in 10.6mm German.
                              Two revolvers with safety catches.

Below is a Webley WS Army special edition model MkIV I picked up in SLC, with a 1911. The WS had it's cylinder shaved to accept half moon clips and .45acp rounds. I learned after a box or two that modern .45acp is a no no for these old guns, and sold that one along.

There is an inherent old world charm to the wesley top break revolvers.

How can you not enjoy that comic looking Webley little "winged-bullet" ?
