Identify this old gun please

My friend has had this in storage from his father who has passed away and doesn't know what it is. Can anyone identify what it is and provide any information/history about it? It has markings on it "Cal 765" very faint on the slide and "B709" stamped on the frame, but nothing else. Curious if anyone has any information or knowledge about this that can be shared.

Google leads me to think its a "Ruby Pistol" or Pistolet Automatique de 7 millim.65 genre "Ruby".

My grandpa had one just like it, and now its mine. Look for markings, and BE CAREFUL if you disassemble it. Some of the copies can be tricky to get back together.

Thanks guys. Great info. Interesting about all the clones. I got the barrel out but couldn't figure out how to get the slide off. So I just put it back and left it alone.

Be careful with it! If you break a part good luck getting a replacement. Many companies made the Ruby and there was quite a lack of uniformity in the parts.

I have a "La Industria Orbrea" Ruby. I've only put a few rounds through it, but it was surprisingly accurate.

Interesting holster... Does it have any markings? Kinda looks like a German holster? I am no holster expert though...
