Help me buy a Garand from CMP

I know a lot of guys here buy their Garands from CMP and are really happy with them. I want to do the same thing but I dont quite understand the easiest way to go about it. I do meet several of their requirements.

    I am,

    1. Member of CRPA
    2. C&R holder

OK So I have the hard stuff out of the way. What do I do from here???

Ok, now all you have to do is download the order form here:

Fill it out, get a notary to certify your identity. Send the order form and a copy of your passport or birth cert along with payment. Now wait 30-60 days to have the rifle delivered directly to your door. Easy

I sent my order for a HRA Special Garand on 11/10. Looks like I'll have the rifle in about a week judging from status in the CMP e-store.

and make sure you go thru the Checklist on page 4A

is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."

Sounds simple enough. Just take all my stuff to a notary and send it in.

Now being a first timer would you recommend a service grade or a correct grade?

Yep, service grade was my backup choice to the HRA Special.

I have tried to join the CMP forums several times but I never receive a response from the moderators. Nothing in my spam filter either. Is the membership locked at this time? Thanks.

the cmp forum takes awhile to get approval

whats the CRPA? does it show up in the CMP membership list of associated clubs on their site?

Also remember...if your rifle has issues (ie not functioning correctly..very rare but it does happen) after you receive it, do not hesitate to contact CMP customer service. They are very willing to help resolve problems with the rifle however they can.

Yeah $10 or so. Usually the Mailboxes Etc, Fed Ex Kinkos type stores will do the notary service.

CMP is a great way to go,this CMP rifle--(I dont know what grade it was)
I replaced the stock but the metal was great--the barrel matched the rcvr
datewise (3-55) and TE is a tad over "1". I did have to trade out an H&R bolt to get a correct SA one. Pete
