I'll reach out to TNW about packages if that's the route people want to go.

I'll need 4 receivers myself so add that to the list.

I already have the demilled kit... Been sitting on it for years. I want to finish it. Would be interested in a group buy for receiver, possibly more.

If you have the coin, 5 receivers are a pretty decent investment on their own.

I can't remember where I got my unfinished tube from. It was set up like the Sten tube with the paper template glued on. It was basically an 80% kit that had compliance parts included. I had to cut, dremmel, file and grind. It was a bit of work, but not bad. It took about a week of off and on work, I parked it myself. It was fun, but had a bit of extra expense with new tools and the park set up. A finished receiver would be a piece of cake to assemble. The weld on barrel extension required is butt ugly, but whatever, better than not having one.... I would be in for a finished receiver but being new to Monterey I haven found an FFL worth anything. I sure there's one, I just don't know.

ETA: building from a complete receiver would be easy. Not as simpleton as slapping AR Lego parts together, but a lot easier than the 80% receiver. It wasn't bad at all, just a lot of fitting.

Just as an idea, you guys might want to float the idea of asking TNW if they will build complete firearms for you if you do a group buy of like 10-15 or more of them. If you want a big enough run, they might go for it.

I bought a complete Suomi from them back when they still sold them. You can tell it's a kit gun because it is a little rough on the finish, but still quite cool.

I'd be interested though I'd need to find a FFL in the SF Bay Area to accept it.

You really need to figure out the semi bolt mods and fire control group first. The receiver is seriously the easiest part of the build by comparison. As I recall the original bolts are hard as a whores heart. You'll need a kiln, lathe , and at least half competent operator to anneal the bolt, reduce its diameter to fit the TNW tube, and machine it to accept a firing pin.

Interested, but would like to know how much more is needed to finish the build.

                            $95 receiver
                            $40 transfer fees for Baboosh
                            $25 DROS
$15 shipping to Baboosh and taxes
                            $150 parts kit
$150 semi auto bolt and other parts

                            Optional:

$150 for a new 16" barrel (if you don't get a new barrel, you need to weld an extension on the barrel that comes with the parts kit to avoid the SBR)

Contact Baboosh so you can put down your deposit if you are sure you want to purchase a receiver. Baboosh will order directly from TNW.

If you are not in Southern California and still want to join this group buy, please contact Baboosh to see if he will ship to another FFL nearby; this might entail 2 transfer fees. Another option is to start another group buy in your area and find a FFL who will purchase the 5 or more receivers from TNW.

Since we do not have to do paperwork or hold the guns for receivers that are shipping we will do it for $20.
