Reproduction or possiblility of making a FP-45 (Liberator)?

Curious if anyone has seen a company make a reproduction Liberator pistol or if anyone has attempted to make them. I've come to the conclusion that I don't have a couple thousand to spare to spend on such a simple design but I would like to have one just for kicks.

A little info on these little guys

I don't think any modern company would be able to make these guns and sell them, since they really aren't a safe design.

However, somewhere around here I have the full set of blueprints for them. They shouldn't be THAT hard to make yourself.. heh. I don't even think the barrels were rifled.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

Look on weaponeer.net. There was a guy that made a .22lr version and I think he was working on a .45 and 9mm version.

Problem is getting a 20 ton press and die set up to stamp out the parts.

hmm it was technically designed as a "flare gun" at least in public documents

as it was smooth bore i doubt it would be allowed but if rifled blanks are used i don't see why not

i think it is an extremely safe design its a single shot so its exempt from the not unsafe list

I saw a forum once where a guy made a full working replica out of modern steel. Looked pretty cool!

The original delivered cost for the FP-45 was $2.40/unit[1] ($26 in 2005)
someone should make them and sell them for 50 bucks each

I have a set of blueprints for this pistol. PM me your e-mail address.

Edit: Looks like I have the original blueprints from Inland Manufacturing Division - General Motors Corp dated 5-13-1942. **** the buyout, let them make guns again.
