    C&R Change of address question.

I did a search, but I didn't find an answer to my question.

Section I question # 20 is asking about the rental/lease term and more. Do I really need to give a copy of the rental/lease agreement? It seems like it is for the regular FFL01. I just want to know before I mail my forms.

I went through this in July and contacted the ATF for specifics. Here's the response.
    Good afternoon Todd,

Thank you for contacting the ATF's Federal Firearms Licensing Center
    (FFLC) with your e-mail inquiry.

You must submit ATF Form 5300.38, Application for an Amended Federal
Firearms License. You may download the form at:
    http://www.atf.gov/forms/pdfs/f530038.pdf.

As a collector you must complete all items on the form except items
4,14,15,16, and 17. All references to "business" should be considered
"collecting activity." Mail the form along with the original license
    to:

    Federal Firearms Licensing Center
    2600 Century Parkway, Suite 110
    Atlanta, GA 30345

I hope this has been responsive to your e-mail inquiry. Thank you for
allowing the FFLC to assist with your inquiry and/or concerns.

    Sincerely,
    Aron McCabe
    Customer Service Specialist
Wanted to add that they will issue a new license with a new number but with the same expiration date as your original.

Are you renting? did you provide a copy of your lease agreement?

The standard answer they give is to skip questions 4,14,15,16, and 17 as 1step mentioned above. But I know for sure that you can skip the part about renting/leasing. You can just put "N/A - LICENSED COLLECTOR" for that one.

No way around this unfortunately. Its best to provide everything they ask in order to not jeopardize your status as a license holder.

I went through the same thing some years ago. its a hassle but its best to do things to the letter, rather then end up in possible legal issues later on.

This is very easy to deal with. By definition, if you are a C&R you are not in the business of dealing firearms. The ATF, I guess, has just been too lazy to draft a change of address form specific to 03FFL's.

What I did was answer all of the firearms "business" questions by stating "N/A, Curio & Relic Licensee only". I sent it in and received my amended license in about 8 days from the date I mailed it.

Just received my new/updated C&R license today. Mailed the Change of Address form on 12/19/08 and received new one 1/7/09. That's a fast turn around given that it was holiday season.

Now, the problem is to save enough money to at least use the license to buy a C&R firearm. Something always seem to come up whenever I get to a point i have enough extra money to use for a purchase.
