    AK kits

Is it still legal in CA to build a AK from a parts kit?

Used to be able to (I have a Sten built CA legal)

What about registering it (no ser#s) didn't used to have to, what about now?

    I need a project.

    Yes, still legal.
    Don't need to register.

You need to DROS the receiver if its 100%. You'll also need a bullet button and a 10 round mag.

You'll only need a mag lock and a 10 round mag if you are building a rifle with evil features. Otherwise, you can build a featureless AK without a mag lock and use your legally owned +10 round mags.
