    antique firearms through ffl?

I've searched and read for hours... I'm finding a lot of conflicting info.

Does a pre-1899 handgun have to go through dros?

    I don't have an 03 or COE.

It would be face to face in california.

    Thanks in advance

Unless you are buying it from a dealer who logs ALL firearms that come in the door, regardless of when the receiver was made. One of my favorite "honey holes" does it this way, so if I buy an antique there I am forced to DROS it so they can get it off their books.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

Looking at an H&R break top in 38 s&w.

Seller isn't responding, so it's not looking promising.

I'll keep an eye out for another.
