    CMP and Kern Residents

Among the few requirements of buying a garand from CMP, one needs to be a member of a local CMP affiliated organization. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only affiliated organization that is local is the ROTC at Arvin High. How do Kern residents fulfill this requirement?
    thanks,
    Sam

Doesn't have to be 'local'. It can be any CMP affiliated organization that will accept you as a member. Some examples include: California Rifle and Pistol Association, Garand Collectors Association.

YOu need to be a member of a CMP-affiliated org, it doesn't have to be a local one. The Garand Collector Association, http://www.thegca.org/ , is a popular option. The CRPA would also work, but many of us have concerns about the leadership, so I would recommend the GCA instead.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

thanks guys. Aside from CMP, are the garands from the garandguy.com worth the money? Any other sources for quality garands and/or refurbished ones?
        thanks.

CMP.... It's a beautiful thing my friend..... I think enough time has gone by without availing yourself of the opportunities they present. Fear not, Go for it.
I have never known one person to regret it.

you can also join USPSA and shoot some IPSC matches to qualify for a CMP garand.
