I am selling my 1914 dated 1911 to a Calguns member in San Diego. Right now, his local FFL is giving me difficulties and will not receiver the pistol do the transfer because it is not on the approved list. I thought Curio and Relic hand guns were exempt from the CA roster?

Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale
Effective January 1, 2001, no handgun may be manufactured within California, imported into California for sale, lent, given, kept for sale, or offered/exposed for sale unless that handgun model has passed firing, safety, and drop tests and is certified for sale in California by the Department of Justice. Private party transfers, curio/relic handguns, certain single-action revolvers, and pawn/consignment returns are exempt from this requirement. -
It is both a private party transfer and a curio/relic. Either way it is exempt.Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale

Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel

As a PPT it would be exempt even if it was a modern off roster handgun. I would find another FFL.
ETA: Just realized you're in the SF area, so it's not a PPT. Regardless, it's still exempt because of the C&R status. I would still look for another FFL if this one continues to resist.Last edited by six seven tango; 12-07-2015, 11:11 AM.sigpic

As written it is not a "PPT" as others have suggested. Unless you drive to SD for transfer, or he drives to Bay Area twice.I am selling my 1914 dated 1911 to a Calguns member in San Diego. It is C&R and as such 'EXEMPT" from roster.
He needs a real FFL. Not a FUD turd.

His FFL is an idiot.
If he backs out, send me some pics. If it is US property marked, I am interested. I live in the free state of Nevada, so no "list" BS.MLC member.
