    Gun Shows

Planning on going to a gun show on December 27-28 in Roseville. I have a question about guns shows, when you buy a rifle, do you have to wait 10 days before picking them up?

I do not know how guns shows work.

If the rifle is not C&R/50 years old, you will have to wait the 10 days through whatever gunshop/FFL the deal is going through. The same is with a handgun.

If the rifle is 50+ years old, you can take it right then and there.

If you buy a rifle from a dealer you need to do the DROS (backround check)and waiting period. If the rifle purchased from the dealer is over 50 years old and you have a C&R FFL03 license AND a CA DOJ certificate of eligiblity (COE), you can waive the waiting period but still are required to do the DROS. A C&R without a COE will require the waiting period. If you buy a rifle from a private party and it is over 50 years old there is no DROS or waiting perid required. If the private party gun is less than 50 years old you need to do a private party transfer (PPT) through a dealer which will include the DROS and waiting period.

This is true if you are buying from a non-Dealer.

If you buy a 50+ year old long gun from a licensed Dealer then you have to DROS the gun and wait the 10 days. You can skip the 10 days on C&R guns of any age if you have a C&R FFL and a COE.

Thanks for keeping me sharp. Forgot about it going through a dealer.

I don't have a C&R or COE, and i would love to skip the 10 days of waiting.

Since I know nothing of dealers, how can you tell which is non-dealer and which is a licensed one?

What are the differences between the two?

a dealer will have a booth, a non dealer will probably be walking around with his stuff.

Dealers and non-dealers will have tables alike.

Since I have never been to a Gun Show before, i got some questions.

Is there a wide selection of rifles (ak47, SKS, MN, KAR, etc.)?

What are the usual costs? (roseville- code of the west)
