Attention g/k43 owners, bolt may hit scope bands?

I noticed the scope bands are so low that the bolt can hit them if it were to cycle during a shoot. Anyone have this problem or how to prevent this risk? I have a repro mount with original scope and mismatched k43

Repro mounts are known to cause this problem. I have never heard of it with real mounts, but I don't think many people with real mounts shoot their examples.

I have a repro mount on my K43, the bolt hasn't made any contact so far.

It's not the bolt that hits the bands, it's the bolt carrier. Not that uncommon when repro mounts are being used. Most of the time it's sufficient to loosen the front band and rotate it until the threaded dowels clear the bolt carrier, or more precisely, clear the serrated lever for the bolt carrier latch.

All bolt carriers have a certain amount of play on the bolt housing rails. When checking clearance between bolt carrier and mount, make sure you pull the carrier handle up while sliding the carrier underneath the scope mount. You may need to adjust both scope rings for clearance.

I already did that my worry is that as I shoot each round the screws will loosen and move the band gradually due to the shockwaves. Right now it's clear but the clearance is very small if the screw moves a bit the carrier will hit it

Once properly tightened, the bands should not move at all from recoil.

Since it's an aftermarket mount, it's also OK to file the V-shaped bottom of the scope tray down to achieve more dowel clearance.

I don't have a scope and ring base yet, thanks for the info.
