      Pesos? Never been to japan but I think they use another type of currency.

        Japan use Yen but I think these were part of the Occupation Forces for a while.

          Japanese occupation of Philippines currency WWII..

          the U.S. also distributed several millions in counterfeit bills to sabotage the economy..

                        I know this question during the war the us needed to have some basses around japan the Philippines had one of the biggest bases at the time. while the us was there the economy was falling apart so the us set up their own monetary system. when the japanese forced the us out they replaced the us peso with the japanese peso to stabilize the economy.
