      Saigon, that's in great shape! Are the chambers marked for length? I "think" they are 2.5". The "44" refers to the .44 shotshell, that was the grand daddy to the current .410. From what little I remember on those, yours would have been after 1920, and I think before 1937?
      Search the gunbroker forums or The Firearms Forum for member "hrf", he has all the records that Bill Goforth collected before his passing a few years ago. If anyone can date it, it'll be him.

            I remembered reading about Bill's passing -

            It is 2.5" - So soft shooting - The gun is art to me -

            Long ago I used to take her out and find rabbits in the fields that once was plenty in Livermore -
