Good public/private ranges in So. Cal.?

Besides Burro Canyon, are there any other good private/public 100yd+ ranges in So. Cal. that accepts milsurp rifles? I am okay with nonmagnetic bullet.

    Lytle Creek

The only thing you can't shoot at Lytle Creek is fruit and vegetables. All of my mil-surplus ammo is steel core but they don't care.

The only issue with Lytle Creek is now that they paved the road all the way up the canyon is it gets a little gangstery in the afternoon. Get there early.

The Angeles Range has issues with surplus rifles? That's a real nice range IMHO...

As of yesterday they did not. I shoot my M1 and 1903 there all the time. They do have a problem with steel core ammo.

San Gabriel and Angeles are nice, especially Angeles where you can gong out to 700-800 yards. Just no steel core rounds I think is the only rule (well excluding all the obvious)

Lytle Creek, huh? I've never heard of this place. Where is it located? Cost? What's the 411?

Project 2000, down in El Cajon, I think goes to 300 and it's fine with milsurp.

Scratching Lytle Creek off my list...

Yeesh, the benches look pretty wobbly and there's no cover. My cracker *** would spontaneously combust w/o cover :-P

Good thing Burro Canyon got cover or I prolly wouldn't shoot there either Still think the best SoCal range by far is the Angeles range. Shooters seem a little more serious, less rapid fire blasting and shooting the ground immediately in front of you or just stuffing lead into the berm ;-)

                        Regards,

                        James R.

I like burro more than any other range in my area. The cholo types don't really bother me that much, most of them only shoot on weekends, and I shoot on weekdays. Been to angeles before and I didn't care for their attitude, didn't like the them snooping through my ammo box and didn't like the 20 something range officer yelling at my dad for sitting down during a line break. I will never go there again.

+Burro canyon has the friendliest range employees of any range I've ever been to, no elitist attitudes or grumpy old guys.
