    mosin nagant?

I see some of you guys put slings on them and some of you don't. At the moment I am not a slinger but thinking on slinging up my mosin collection. Why don't some of you and why do some of you. It would be easier to sling it and have 2 hands to carry case of beer and spam can of ammo.

    Welcome to the forum...

Although I don't condone drinking while guns are out, my use for a sling is a stable shot. http://www.gundigest.com/shooting-ar...ics-loop-sling

Let me know when and where you'll be shooting because I won't want to be within 20 miles of you. Alcohol and firearms do not mix.

I use the slings to stabilize my offhand shots. It works well.

Keeping slings on rifles while in storage can be a mess, they like to snag bolt handles and knock everything over like dominoes.......ask me how I know. Needless to say....all slings get tightened up or removed when I put them back in the rack.

I hope you are far away from any other people when you engage in that kind of stupidity.

I use slings at the range, take them off before they go in the safe since they get in the way.

I put them on and then remove them shortly after. Gets in the way in the safe.

I suspect the beer comment was a bad joke, so I won't comment on that part of you post. Here is a good sample of using a sling steady your shot.

As others have stated, slings are great at the range but create a hassle in the safe. Most of my rifles I took them off because they like to catch the sights or bolt handles on my other guns and pull everything out with them. I have a few that I leave on only because they are a pain to take on and off.

There are some sensitive males here. I guess rhey don't want you to touch beer witha fireamr around. Is it ok to have a case of beer in car on the way to camp ground, does any firearm have to be in another car?

                      Pull up your pants.

Slings are very useful for freeing up your hands to carry other items. ...... god forbid its booze. Or even your medical Marijuana! !! Yikes scary!

Oh calguns, so sensitive about a harmless joke. Anyone else want to comment about how op is dumb for drinking and shooting when there is no proof that he ever has or plans on it?

Slings are on my rifles because they belong on the gun. Looks good I think.

If it was meant as a joke, it was in VERY poor taste. BTW, ALL of my rifles are slung, 24/7/365 because that's where slings are supposed to reside. Never pose any problems in the safe for me.

Doesn't matter if it was a joke or not. It was stupid and tasteless and there ARE people here that do go shooting while drinking. I've been invited to the desert by a group on here who planned on doing just that.
