    S&W K-22 purchase.

I've been looking at 5-screw S&W's for some time now, especially .22 caliber. I glommed one at an auction today.

Only have the auction pics now...

Description was a little sparse.."appears to be in excellent condition, serial number 2531xx"

Based on this, bidding involved a certain amount of faith, so I'll have to wait for it to arrive at my FFL.

Very sweet; you're going to love it!

    Congratulations.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

2531XX was most likely made in 195X.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. Made in 1955 and probably shipped the same year or early in 1956. S&W did not ship guns in sequential order

            Thanks, seal.

I'm hoping the smudging on the blueing are just fingerprints that will wipe off. I'll post better pics when it arrives.

                        Very nice.
Bit of a thread jack. In the third pic the turn line takes a jog to the right on the cylinder notch. What causes that?

Anyway, nice .22. Someday I hope to find one when I have the money.

My experience is all revolvers have more or less that artifact. It's the lock riding in the "ramp" to the notch. It's the edge of the "ramp"

Thanks for the answer on the turn line. I have seen it on couple revolvers before, but not a lot. Maybe I just haven't noticed it as much on others. Ie, it's there just faint.
