I currently have two '55s:

PF 3372xx (the one shown in the pics) and allegedly part of 50k made for Ireland but most not delivered.

UF A172xx purchased in 1994 from Turners and unwrapped by yours truly.

That's a beaut. If I'm not mistaken and memory serves me (both doubtful), the last batch, or close to last production run of #4Mk2's were made in 1955 or so were destined for the Royal Air Force. But they were not delivered to the air force (maybe they waited for the replacement FN-FAL) and went to warehouses in the UK from where they were directly sold as surplus.

They shoot so good too, Fazakerly 55 UF brought in my century in the 90's, Royal Air Force warehoused sometimes in the wrap. I know some calgunners have them still in the wrap!

Not sure about that. I've got a 1957 dated #4MK2.

According to Peter Laidler, a former Royal Military Armorer active on various forums, Royal Ordnance Factory Fazakerley continued to assemble new #4MK2's from unused spare parts through 1957 and mark them "FTR".
