    K31 Bayonet on Sale

I just noticed that Midway has the Swiss M1918 bayonet for the K31 or K11 on sale for $49.99. If you've been wanting to get one for your Rifle, now is a good time.

Figures. I bought an un-nunbered, un-issued bayo for $80. That $49 bayo would have been fine.

It's a beauty! Mine is unserialized, stamped "Elsener Schwyz Victoria" on the blade, with a Swiss cross and triangle on the guard. I'm so totally Swiss now it's crazy.

I bought a nasty one with a bent blade from JGSales for $80. (hand pick.) Rules say if I buy a second bayonet, I need another K31. Hmm.

That's not cool. I'd complain and return it.

Cool deal, have you tried it on your K31 yet?

I would send it back and request a new one unless too much time has passed. If so, you should order one from Midway before they go off sale.

                I don't even have a K31 yet...

Buy the bayonet then you have to K31 to put it on. Problem solved...

As much as I love milsurps, I just can't get excited about bayonets. If the rifle comes with one, great. If it doesn't, the chance of me buying one for it is zero. Even still I have a tub with a bunch of Mauser and Mosin bayos.

I do admit that the Swiss bayonets, and especially the Pioneer versions, are beautifully crafted.

I am pretty much in agreement with you.

However, if I saw an authentic bayonet for the No. 5 Enfield laying on a shelf in a thrift store or antique store with a tag that says "old knife, $5", I would jump out of my skin just about digging my wallet out.
