I bought this SKS. I think it might be a sino-soviet model. It has a blade bayonet, full barrel lug, sling swivel mounted on the bottom, then on the rear sight and a 4 digit serial number. The only thing that is giving me pause is that it does not have the 26 factory mark and it has 2 letters prior to the 4 digit serial number rather than one. Can anyone let me know if I am close on my identification?

That is definitely a Russian serial number. Probably a 52-54 Tula.Last edited by spb_la; 08-19-2015, 6:40 PM."There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket."

Judging by the sparse photos it just looks like a Russian. Receiver and stock appear to match. Let's see the rest of it.Comment

A true Ghost would have a digits-only serial without the /26\.
And the star on the receiver, IIRC, is a later-year Tula marking (when they stopped stamping receiver cover with the big Tula star and the year) in 55-56.
Earlier Tulas do not have a star on the side of the receiver.
There were known "Russian sneaks" in the batches of Chinese SKS that were available from AIM, Classic, J&G, etc. This could be one of those."There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket."

It's not worth much and probably a crappy shooter. I'm close enough to relieve you of your misery. PAXYou need a crew
